WELCOME

It is fascinating how diverse microbial species in the environment establish various modes of molecular interplay that lead to the formation of complex microbial communities that make remarkable contributions to biogeochemical cycles, biotechnology, and maintaining ecosystems.

My focus falls on fungi and bacteria which comprise a large fraction of the overall soil biomass. Bacterial-fungal interactions are crucial for the understanding of microbial ecosystems that are closely related to agriculture, medicine, and the environment. It is well known that microbial interactions promote the activation of cryptic biosynthetic pathways. Using genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic platforms I pursue to disentangle and understand the complex molecular interaction dynamics of plant microbial communities.
